What can I say? My updates here have sure tapered off. Nearly a month since I last posted to the site. I’m not intentionally witholding.
The summer has been good. Work for me is busy. I took in a rock concert in Detroit on July 15th. I sat on the Holland Hundred Bike Tour organizing committee and was very busy for most of July. The Bike tour was a great success especially considering that it rained the entire day of the bike tour. The numbers for the bike tour matched last years numbers and considering the economy, the cost of gas, and the rain on the day of the event, I think that speaks for itself.
The kids have been involved in some Holland Summer Recreation programs. Hannah in gymnastics and Noah in Golf. Hannah is now on a 2 day campout with our Church’s youth ministry. She will return home on Saturday evening around 7:00pm. Until then Noah and I are hanging out and enjoying some one on one ‘Guy time’ as we call it. Saturday afternoon we plan to visit Craig’s cruisers for some Go-kart activity and then return home in time for Hannah’s return. Saturday night we will have our Family Night event and watch the Hannah Montana 3D Concert on Disney. The kids have their 3D glasses sitting by the big screen all set to go.
I have my moments of struggle but they are fewer and farther in between. Life is good and there is no denying it. Many friends and many good times and new memories made this summer. I think in the last month I’ve taken some real time to just sit down and look around and take count of the numerous blessings I have in my life. So many have it so much worse and so much harder…. I have no reason to complain or whine.
It’s hard to believe that next week is August and then the kids go back to school in September. Time flies when you’re…
Cheers-
Randy
