UPDATE – All of the required parts were in stock and the rider was successfully repaired and placed back into service last night – 8/24.
During the winter of 2007 – mice took over the internals of the engine to my John Deere tractor. There was a lot of things going on at the time and I didn’t have the emotional energy or the surplus cash to afford to get the riding lawn mower repaired…
Last October we got new neighbors next door and since that time the neighbor and I have gotten to know each other. A great young couple… so nice to have a young couple next door. Anyway, Adam has been after me to let him take a crack at the lawn mower and today we spent some time tearing it down and it looks like the worst of the damage is a chewed through spark plug cable that goes from the ignition module and a dead battery…. So we made a list of those items along with a bunch of normal maintenance items to get it back into shape.
- Ignition module – and attached Wire harness
- Home Maintenance Kit – Spark Plug, Oil Filter, Air Filter, Fuel Filter. Oil,
- New Standard Mower Blades (for mulching)
- Battery
So hopefully be the end of next week the rider will be rolling again. I am pledging to also take better care of the back yard as a result!
