Thought(s) of the day: Saw a guy with a harness around his upper body with a small dog (think it was a Terrier) strapped in the harness while riding his back – 66th St on the way home.
Felt so-so on the bike today…. definitely didn’t have that “no-chain” feeling.

Here is a first image I have received from the HMI photo shoot I took part in a couple of Tuesday’s ago.

Man I look tee’d off in this photo. I’m really not I was trying to keep from breaking out laughing.

Thought(s) of the day: Very nice ride tonight with Jim Carson. Had one guy drive by in a car and shout “Way to go Lance!”. In apparant support of Lance’s 7th LeTour Victory. Or is it all road bike cyclists are now named Lance in honor on the 7th victory.
This ride hurt the legs way more than it should with the miles I have in. Amazing how different you can feel when it’s beeen over a week since I last rode. Fitness can go south quickly.

Our annual Lakeshore Loop Charity ride (for the American Lung Association) was canceled after last September’s ride. It has left us looking for a ride to do in early September.
It looks like we may end up doing the One Day Ride Across Michigan (ODRAM). I single day ride of 152 miles from Muskegon to Bay City. This is an unsupported ride so we will need to have our own support vehicle.
If you are interested in more information about ODRAM, visit the LMB website at http://www.lmb.org/odram/
I’ll keep you posted in whether ODRAM becomes a reality as September approaches.

Thought(s) of the day: Took part in an HMI Photo Shoot. Rode from the HMI Design yard to Gulligan Lake on 66th. Took photo’s of the group riding together for possible inclusion in the Companies Annual Report. Pace of the ride itself was much higher but the time spent in the photo shoot brought it back down. Ride was blast trying to hang with a group of much faster riders.

Thought(s) of the day: Whew… I was whipped tonight. Worked in the yard all night Friday and all day today (Saturday) in prep. for our new shed. I even considered calling Jim and canceling but I really need to get some rides in cuz once the Shed work starts rides will be off for a bit. Anyway I am glad that I didn’t cancel and althought I was a bit tired on the bike the ride was still very enjoyable.

Thought(s) of the day: Mixed effort tonight. Did have some fun coming home on 66th when a Guy and Woman went around us and I decided to pick up our pace a bit. FOr whatever reason Jim was intent on just hanging back. Sort of the cardinal rule that if you pass a group you gotta hold the pace and not get passed back. This poor woman was suffering like a dog about 2 miles down the road after they went around us. Nice to see someone other than myself suffer like a dog…. is that terrible or what! What was even more interesting was how conflicted the guy was…. he obliviously wanted to push a much higher pace but felt compelled to stick to his ladies side. OUCH!

Riding partners: Jim & Tina Carson joined us on their tandem for the first 20-25 miles and then peeled off because it sounded like they actually had other things planned for today. Jim Mahaney for the entire tour.
Thought(s) of the day: Today was a absolute beautiful day. Weather and temperture were perfect. Humidity was low. Could have asked for better weather for my first Century ride in 3 years.
