Time: 1.39.29
Avg. Speed: 16.7 mph
Max. Speed: 34.9 mph

Ride Description: Velo-City Cycles Tuesday night road ride.  Jim and I rode from our house over to Velo at a very easy pace.   A great turn out for the Tuesday night ride.

Riding Partners: Jim Mahaney.   Mike Mortorff, The Gent wearing the Phonak jersey.

Thought of the day: No popping today.  The overall average is very misleading as the ride over to velo was very easy and the ride out of town was very easy.  Once the ride kicked in the pace was pretty fast into the wind and got crazy fast coming home heading north on 66th.

Mortorff Quote of the Day:  Chatted with Mike quite a bit today but nothing really stands out as the quote from the evening.

Year to Date Distance: 626.72 miles
Time: 2.51.10
Avg. Speed: 17.4 mph
Max. Speed: 34.5 mph

Ride Description: Jim and I took off a bit early and went down and around Hutchin’s lake.  When then met up with the broken up MCC B groun from the MCC Monday Night Road Ride.

Riding Partners: Jim Mahaney.   Met up with Ed Speyer’s and Mortorff later on during the ride.

Thought of the day: Dammit.   I popped going up Mahaney hill.  The speed was even 2 mph slower than last week.

Mortorff Quote of the Day: No quote today.  Not much talking once we caught up with his group of riders.  [UPDATE:  Mortorff said the quote of the day came after I dropped off…. “Randy blew his wad going up the New Richmond Hill and had nothing left for Manhaney Hill (Hill up 60th St).”

He’s right to.  I was way too determined to be first to the top of New Richmond that I didn’t save enough for the remainder of the ride.  Guilty.

Year to Date Distance: 576.90 miles
Time: 2.18.26
Avg. Speed: 19.2 mph total (19.5 mph through the ride route back to the Aquatic Center)
Max. Speed: 33.4 mph

Ride Description: MCC Monday Night Road Ride.

Riding Partners: Mark Harter.  A great ride Mark!

Thought of the day: Decent sized group tonight.  Down slightly from previous weeks.  The stiff wind and heat most liekly was the cause for the lighter numbers.  Finally a ride where I wasn’t dropped coming up the slight upgrade on 62nd Avenue.  Stayed in touch with the front of the B group the entire ride.

Mortorff Quote of the Day: No quote today.  Mike did not ride.

Avg. Speed: 18.2 mph

Ride Description: MCC Sweet Roll Ride.

Riding Partners: A gorup of 8 including myself.

Thought of the day: Was a great ride.  Nice and overcast for the entire ride.  Later in the day the clouds burned off and it got really cooking outside.

Mortorff Quote of the Day: No quote today.  Mike did the sprint ride.

Ride Data
Distance:
27.75 miles
Year to Date Distance: 496.03 miles
Time: 1.37.10
Avg. Speed: 17.1 mph
Max. Speed: 28.8 mph

Ride Description: Velo City Cycles Tuesday Night Road Ride.  Road in the Green Group (aka B Group)

Riding Partners: A decent sized group at a more conversational pace.  A bit more disorganized than the MCC rides and the MCC rides aren’t very organized.  Met Carmen.  A first year road rider and previous Principal of Van Raalte School in Holland.

Thought of the day: Still feeling very tired on the bike.

Mortorff Quote of the Day: No quote today.  Did not see Mike this evening.

Ride Data
Distance:
40.69 miles
Year to Date Distance: 468.28 miles
Time: 2.15.58
Avg. Speed: 17.9 mph
Max. Speed: 33.6 mph

Ride Description: MCC Monday Night ride.

Riding Partners: A very large group

Thought of the day: It is obvious that I am not riding as well as I did last year.  I started strong and got into the mix for a short period of time but really faded as we made the turn on River Rd. to come up to 128/127/126th Avenues.  I basically went from the front B1 group to the very back of the B2 group and would have been dropped except that they waited.   I recovered and felt pretty good coming home on 60th.  Took it easy and stayed back with Leon.

Mortorff Quote of the Day: No quote today.  Mike was Mike and went off the front.
