Thought of the day: A great this evening.  Been a while since I felt this good on a bike.  I was on the attack several times tonight.  Sure felt good to not be the bump on a log for a change.  I guess I need to ride 300+ miles every week <wink> but then I may be living out of a card board box.

Ride Description: Sprint Ride to Grafscaap and then broke off south to meet the guys from Saugatuck.

Thought of the day: My first sprint ride. I was told it was a pretty conservative sprint ride but at least I didn’t get dropped.   This is an interesting ride.  We had a group of around 25 riders and it is truly every man for himself.  There was no order to the group that I could see.  Certainly nobody was taking turns pulling or rotating through.

It was nice to then head south to meet Tom, Dan, and Dick.  Going East into Hamilton was a bear but I recovered ok.

Mental notes on average speeds.   17.1 from my house to Velo City – warm up.   19.9 at Grafscaap Rd at the end of the Sprint Ride.  19.8 at our stop for Coffee at Java Hut at Waverly and 40th.  19.8 when I got back home.

Thought of the day: A great ride at the great RAGBRAI.  7 of the 9 riders in our group stayed together the entire ride.  Big Mike and Big Doug did the vast majority of the pulling today.  Thank you guys.  The rest of us hung back and chatted.

Ride Description: Was the MCC Monday night road ride but a totally different route due to construction on Old Allegan Rd.  This was way east and I was completely lost although the route was perfect.

Thought of the day: The new route had the effect of keeping the group together. Nobody knew the route well enough to really attack or push the pace until we were on 170th and almost back in.
